Why Dr. Joe Created Pineal Chill

When we live in stress, our brain is in an overly aroused state. As we experience the hormones of stress, cortisol levels go up and melatonin levels go down. Melatonin, produced by the pineal gland, helps to regulate the body’s cycles of sleep. Thus, when melatonin levels are low, it keeps us from experiencing complete sleep cycles, and as a result, the body is unable to fully restore itself. Pineal Chill provides the necessary  ingredients and raw materials to bring melatonin levels back to their optimum state so the body can rest, repair and regenerate.
GABA
Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is an amino acid and a neurotransmitter that is naturally found in the body. It inhibits excessive firing of neurons, which produces a sense of calm and inner balance. GABA supports the body’s natural mechanism for quieting the mind and helps combat the effects of stress and anxiety.

Vitamin B6
B6 is essential for proper neural transmission in the brain. It aids the body by converting the amino acid tryptophan into serotonin. Serotonin helps to regulate levels of the sleep hormone melatonin, which promotes sleep and relaxation.

Magnesium
Magnesium plays an important role in regulating neurotransmitters and muscle relaxation. It also helps to calm the firing of neurons in the brain, enhancing the overall depth and quality of sleep.

L-Theanine
L-Theanine helps to increase brain levels of serotonin and dopamine as well as gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), which is an important inhibitory neurotransmitter. It has also been known to shift the brain towards a predominance of alpha waves, which are associated with creativity and relaxation.

Chamomile Flower Extract
Helps to reduce stress and anxiety, promoting an overall feeling of relaxation. In addition, it has been known to improve insomnia.

L-Tryptophan
An amino acid that the body converts into 5-HTP (5-hydroxy-tryptophan), which is used to make serotonin and melatonin. Serotonin is involved in mood, appetite, and sleep. Once serotonin is made, the brain is able to convert it into melatonin, the sleep-inducing hormone.

Melatonin
Melatonin is a natural hormone that is made by the pineal gland and works together with your body’s circadian rhythm to regulate the sleep-wake cycle. Melatonin is an effective antioxidant which scavenges free radicals and upregulates several antioxidant enzymes.
